Nailed Down by Chelle Bliss and Eden Butler
I have been a fan of Eden Butler’s romance for well over a year now, but this was my first experience of her co-author Chelle Bliss (though I’d heard nothing but positive things about her and her books) and this collaboration is a definite winner for me. I was excited when the first book was announced, but knowing it’s part of a three book series has me very happy indeed.
Nailed Down introduces us to Kane Kaino and his brother Kiel and I have to say, this family clearly has some alpha male, sexy hot genes running through it because wow 😮🔥😍 Kane and his long time best friend Kit Carlyle are the focus of this book and I have to say this slow burn, friend-to-lovers romance is one of the best I’ve read in a long time. With both Kane and Kit having what they think are unrequited feelings for the other, it was fascinating to see this couple form both POVs, because as a reader we had much of a clue what was going on than Kit and Kane most of the time 😉
Despite the slow burn, there was plenty of flirting, hot as all hell kisses and foreplay and I never felt that I was missing out as the sexual chemistry between Kit and Kane was off the charts. And the story line had me hooked from the start, with the bucket list for Kit that kick-started Kane and her finally admitting an attraction to one another. I alsooved that Kit and Kane are hosts of a cable renovation-based TV show and the other cast and crew made for great secondary characters (even if Bill made me shudder). Kane’s brother Kiel definitely has a story to tell too and I’m looking forward to reading his story next. He definitely deserves a bit of romance in his life.
There’s not much more I can say (especially with spoiling anything) – but I hope that this new collaboration isn’t just a series one-off, because I would definitely be happy to read more by Chelle and Eden.
